Finance / Office Administrator
£9 – £10 p/h
18½ hours per week over 5 days including Sunday morning.
There may be some ad-hock evening work but this will be kept to a minimum and can mostly be carried out from home.
This is an initial 12 month contract with a view to extend the contact for a further 12 month period. This provides us with the flexibility to grow the role with the charity.
Your role will be to support the Treasurer with all transactional accounting, significant admin support to the Chairman and Rabbi as well as overseeing all other office duties in the Shul. It is expected that the person taking this role will be able to hit the ground running but full training will be provided.
About the Shul
We are a growing modern orthodox Shul in North Manchester. This is a very exciting time for Meade Hill Shul as the charity is going through an unprecedented period of growth. The charity has just started a multi million pound redevelopment project and have aspirations to be a real driving force for the Jewish community in Manchester.
Roles and Responsibilities
First line support for all Shul and Burial members.
Dealing with cash and payments for membership and events.
Entering all transactions on the accounting package.
Managing petty cash.
Reconciling bank statements.
Monitoring how much is owed at all times and managing the debts of members and creditors.
Maintain accurate membership information.
Issuing Yartzheit reminders.
Managing Kiddush and event sponsorship.
Help relatives when members are nifta.
Any other duties deemed suitable for the role.
Good telephone manner, excellent communication skills.
Excellent people person.
Ability to work on own as well as part of a team.
Good with numbers.
Experience with financial packages such as Quick Books.
Good Excel skills.
Use of Mailchimp.
Knowledge of Yiddishkeit.
